Sidekicks Program

The Sidekicks Program is an initiative established to encourage the growth and development of UNM American Indian students and ensure progress toward successfully completing educational goals and securing a smooth career transition. Sidekicks is a peer-to-peer model designed to build a community of support to help students manage transition, foster campus connection, encourage community service, promote academic achievement, and reach degree attainment.

Program Goals

Sidekicks aims to positively impact students’ ability to maximize their UNM experience and academic growth. Enhanced academic success, building supportive peer relationships, promoting personal development, and expanding volunteerism with the UNM and local community are primary cornerstones of the Sidekicks experience.
